Rambling and The Rose

I ate seven cookies yesterday. Seriously. 7. Seven. 6+1. That's how many I ate. BUT they were oatmeal raisin with wheat germ and no flour, so they were technically good for me, right? That's what I keep telling myself.

She ripped this giant stick off of a tree in my backyard.
She does this often.

I also had a massive cheeseburger for dinner, but I blame my grandma for that.

Speaking of grandmas, mine is pretty awesome. I don't turn her down when she asks me to go for a cheeseburger.

My dog likes to watch airplanes fly by. Really, she stops chewing on whatever stick she's destroying and looks up into the sky. It happened no fewer than five times yesterday afternoon. It was a good day for flying.

See? Watching planes fly by.

She also likes to watch birds fly by. And sometimes I catch her staring into my neighbors yard with wander. She's a dreamer, that Rose.

Today is my niece is celebrating her 9th birthday. NINE! I love that little lady way too much. You know what I'm getting her for her birthday? A giant bag of candy. Sorry, Ran and Kris, I apologize in advance for your super hyper daughter this weekend. (But don't tell her about the candy.)

Her pirate name is Rosie Wet Beard.
I like kissing her button nose.

I'm currently reading Time Was Soft There: A Paris Sojourn at Shakespear & Co. by Jeremy Mercer. It makes me want to be a poor, aimless writer wandering the streets of Paris. It also intensifies my love of book stores and old books. And quirky people. So yeah, I'm gonna need to go to Paris soon.

I'm playing with the idea of becoming a vegetarian. Just ignore the whole "I ate a massive cheeseburger for dinner" last night comment. Vegetarianism it is, from here on out. I wonder what boyfriend will have to say about this new venture in life.

This is the face Rosie makes when she's getting a belly rub.
It's a face only a mother could love.
And I do.

I'm sort of secretly happy that boyfriend decided to pick up a Thursday night class. It means I get to watch Project Runway. I want to punch that Gretchen girl in the face, even if her style rocks.

I've also seen way too many episodes of Keeping up With the Kardashians. They make me feel smarter because they are so stupid.

Giant paw!

I'm going to the lake this weekend for the second weekend in a row. I'm stoked. Although, after watching two episodes of River Monsters this week, I'm also a slightly terrified.

I promise I don't watch as much TV as it sounds like. I'm actually thinking about cancelling my cable. Except I'd miss the Food Network too much. And the Kardashians.

I got poison ivy in the 5th grade. On purpose. I wanted a good reason to miss school. For some reason poison ivy seemed the way to go. I was wrong. I was waaaay wrong. Turns out I'm ridiculously allergic to poison ivy. I missed school for 2 weeks. It was not awesome.

You know what is awesome? New babies. My cousin had one last week. His name is Chalk, baby brother to Josiah. Cutest baby names ever.

I love my giant Rose!

I think I'll have a cookie for breakfast. Oatmeal raisin is a breakfast cookie, right?
