I've been trying to say a lot this week. About books, candles, my new computer. The most awesome of those things (the computer, obviously) is giving me some trouble. As in, I have no idea how to use it. So all I can do is look forward to this weekend. Here's what I'll be doing, if all goes as planned:
Celebrating big news times three tonight with my best friends.
Visiting an annual booksale. It's something I look forward to every year.
Walking with Rosie through my neighborhood.
Riding my bike.
Watching Charlie Day on SNL.
Reading some new books, The Wind Up Bird Chronicle by Haruki Murakami and Therapy Dogs: Training Your Dog to Reach Others by Kathy Diamond Davis. (They're both excellent so far.)
Shopping for new trees with my grandma.
Learning how to use my new computer...and hopefully understand it.
What do you all have planned this weekend?

...I am obsessed with this story of a boy and his dog (and so much more). It's long, but totally worth the read. I've read it twice, have printed it out and passionately recited it word-for-word to boyfriend over dinner last night. It makes me feel like I know what Rosie and I's mission in life is. To give love.
...I can't stop listening to this album and am counting down the days til I get to see them in Tulsa. Live!
...I've had this song playing on heavy rotation lately. And this one. And this one too. Oh, and this one, always.
...My go to breakfast of choice is a big, juicy grapefruit and a cup of tea with lemon and honey.
...All I want to watch on TV is The Walking Dead and Downton Abbey, which are totally unrelated.
...I'm reading Dragonfly in Amber (again) and Jane Eyre.
...I can't get enough of this soup, although I was out of celery so I made it with brussels sprouts. Bam! Brussels sprouts soup!
...I'm excited about going to a Health Starts Here training event at Whole Foods tonight.
...I'm on a hunt for a new bed, living room rug, and entertainment center. Although I sort of loathe entertainment centers....so we're trying to compromise.
...I've made like 10 of these and love having them all over the house. They make a nice little gift for brothers and their girlfriends too, filled with flowers, of course.
...I've started and quit working out for three weeks in a row.
...I love getting this in the mail every two weeks.
...I'm excited about spending Valentine's Day with The Beard (ahh!! I'm obsessed) and the rest of the Thunder.
All of the above.

I love giving gifts and I love reusing things, which means if you've received a gift from me anytime in the past few years, it's probably been wrapped in a paper bag, embellished of course.
Here's a few of my favorite wrap jobs from the past year or so.
My little brother's 22nd birthday gift. Wrapped in the leg of some jeans I had just cut up to make jean shorts.
And his 23rd birthday gift. It's a little ransom-noteish, but the mustache helps. Or...maybe not.
Justin Bieber or dead body? This was a group effort, by the way. I think my mom re-touched our bows.
And one of this past years Christmas gifts. I tried to step it up a notch and actually purchased a roll of craft paper, instead of using paper bags. But I still managed to wrap a few gifts in balloons and crepe paper, just for good measure.
-80* weather on the last day of January.
-Season two of The Walking Dead on Netflix.
-Bright orange Gerber Daisies to brighten up our living room.
-The Memory Keepers Daughter by Kim Edwards. Not my favorite book ever, but I'm glad to have it to read every night and think it'll make for a good discussion with my book club friends.
-A fresh cut and color.
